CHAPTER-03 VISIONARY TEACHER AND SCIENTIST

‘The great minds of the country had the ability to make others join their endeavor to convert dreams into reality. For them, the nation was bigger than them and they could draw thousand to act upon their dreams.’

As I am pacing up with each word of the author, I feel that he is guiding me in absurdity, from him I get the courage to find out what is there for me in the humble abode. I feel I have started to develop some understanding from author’s point of view, but I believe there is yet a whole sea to dive into!

I started my journey of the chapter by getting acquainted with some of the greatest brains who worked in the field of sciences. Some of them are pretty known to me while I had not heard some of them. Author shared his blessed moment in the year of 1952, where he was honoured to be an audience of a lecture given by his mentor Dr. Iyenger a great mathematician and scholar/laurel. Wherein Dr. Iyenger talked some of the greatest mathematician nurtured in India such as Aryabhata, Bhramagupta, Bhaskaracharya, Srinivasa Ramanujam and other great gems. Getting to know about the great scholars’ work and efforts gave me a moment of happiness or a higher bliss. They had helped me in solving one of the tedious subjects in school i.e. ‘Mathematics’. Though I did take interest in trigonometry, area, volumes and especially polynomials but I never read the brief description in textbooks, about those who invented these. As I am pacing up with each word of the author, I feel that he is guiding me in absurdity, from him I get the courage to find out what is there for me in the humble abode. I feel I have started to develop some understanding from author’s point of view, but I believe there is yet a whole sea to dive into!

I had a brief yet immense learning when author started talking about his anecdotes of life as a scientist. I was amazed by certain incidents where I realized the power of perseverance, as well as passion; which can be combined to proliferate as the higher chemistry of success.

“Science seeks truth that enriches human life”-

when I read these words, I realized how valuable our 12 years in school have been. Being a chef, I am more inclined towards chemistry and biology of ingredients. Another prominent learning was the thesaurus of true leadership. As per author’s belief, wisdom of a great leader lays underneath his/her great zeal not only for his/her subject or work but a great leader also has humility towards people, which enriches his/her persona. In other words, a leader shall keep his/her work as an amiable worship for which he/she shall always stay true.

I would like to share, one of the excerpt which left me enthralled:

Science seeks truth that enriches human life. The higher level of religion is spirituality……. Both Science and spirituality seek the Almighty’s blessings for human prosperity in mind and body.

I found great values in these words.

And finally as I comprehend the wits of the author with my perception, I feel there has been pure wealth in terms of wisdom when he quoted Dr C.V Raman. Dr. Raman, was one of the finest president of India, who inspired people way back in 1969, nearly two decades after Indian independence.

“…Young men and women before me not to lose hope and courage. Success can only come to you by courageous devotion to task lying in front of you.”He added

“…what we lack is perhaps courage, what we lack is perhaps driving force, which takes one anywhere. We have, I think developed an inferiority complex, and I think what we need is the destruction of that defeatist spirit. We need a spirit of victory…. a spirit which can recognize that we, as inheritors of a profound civilization, are entitles to our rightful place on this planet. If that indomitable spirit were to arise nothing can hold us from achieving our rightful destiny… ”

Sometime when you desperately seek for your existence, faith gets fueled up and we find many roads opened and light of hope illuminates the dark chambers of mind. If I tell you that I was lost just few weeks back when my sister encouraged me to start writing about my daily dose and we both ended up with idea of reviving soul. As I am writing this blog, I am also being nurtured with new insights, which is per se my gratitude towards great lord as he showed up as per my calls. More I realize and understand that God is the faith within us. All we need to do is have little faith and hope and life is a very fruitful journey.
